The Carbon Fibre Difference

AquaGuard offers advanced carbon fibre filter cartridges as an alternative to the carbon block cartridges commonly sold in Australia. Carbon fibre cartridges are made from tightly woven sheets of activated carbon fibre. Unlike traditional carbon block cartridges, they do not rely on large quantities of elastomeric binders to hold powdered carbon together.

These binders can cover 95% of the carbon’s active surface and restrict the spaces between its particles. Over time, this can contribute to clogging, reduced water flow and pressure loss.

The woven construction of AquaGuard’s carbon fibre cartridges provides greater access to the carbon’s filtration surface while leaving more space to capture fine particles and contaminants. This helps deliver:

• Effective filtration performance, including the removal of PFAS and Iron

• Strong and consistent water flow for the life of the cartridge

• Reduced pressure loss

• Greater capacity for trapped particles

• Reliable, long-lasting cartridge performance of over 80,000 litres

The result is an efficient water filtration solution designed to provide cleaner, better-tasting water without unnecessarily compromising your household water pressure.

World-leading Carbon Fibre Water Filtration

AquaGuard Carbon Fibre Filter Cartridges deliver exceptionally powerful filtration without sacrificing the water flow and pressure needed for everyday household use. Independently tested, AquaGuard technology removes contaminants including forever chemicals, PFOS, PFOA, heavy metals, chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, microplastics, bacteria and chlorine disinfection by-products. Unlike many conventional filters that only reduce certain contaminants, AquaGuard’s advanced Carbon Fibre Filtration System is engineered to remove them at exceptionally high rates while retaining the beneficial natural minerals in your water.

What does AquaGuard Carbon Fibre Filtration remove?

AquaGuard Carbon Fibre Filtration removes a broad range of contaminants that may affect the safety, quality, taste and odour of drinking water, including:

  • PFOS and PFOA

  • Perfluorinated compounds and other forever chemicals

  • Heavy metals

  • Arsenic

  • Selected radioactive nuclides

  • Chlorine

  • Chlorine disinfection by-products

  • Organochlorine compounds

  • Pesticides

  • Herbicides

  • Insecticides

  • Pharmaceuticals

  • Microplastics

  • Bacteria

  • Pathogenic microorganisms

  • Sediment and particles down to 0.5 micron

  • Unpleasant tastes and odours

AquaGuard Carbon Fibre Filtration does more than improve the taste of your water. It provides comprehensive protection from chemical, biological and particulate contaminants while allowing naturally occurring minerals to remain.

Independently tested PFOS and PFOA removal.

PFOS and PFOA are persistent manufactured chemicals commonly known as forever chemicals. These contaminants can remain in the environment for decades and have been detected in water supplies throughout Australia and overseas. AquaGuard’s V2 Carbon Fibre Filter Cartridges have been independently tested and internationally certified for the removal of PFOS and PFOA.

Testing demonstrated removal rates of up to 99.7% at a full-flow filtration rate of approximately 7.6 litres per minute. The cartridges remove these contaminants down to extremely low concentrations measured in parts per billion. While many water filters claim to reduce PFOS and PFOA, their filtration capacity and effective flow rates can be considerably lower. AquaGuard combines verified contaminant removal with the practical flow rate required for whole-of-tap household use.

Two Powerful Stages of Filtration

At the heart of the AquaGuard Ultrasorb System are two advanced V2 Carbon Fibre Filter Cartridges -

First Stage: CF3 V2 Catalytic Carbon Fibre

The first stage contains AquaGuard’s specialised 0.5-micron catalytic carbon fibre media. It removes difficult contaminants including:

  • PFOS, PFOA and other perfluorinated compounds

  • Heavy metals

  • Arsenic

  • Selected radioactive nuclides

  • Bacteria

  • Microplastics

  • Fine sediment and particulate matter

Perfluorinated compounds can contain numerous fluorine atoms within a single molecule, making them particularly persistent and challenging to remove. AquaGuard’s catalytic carbon fibre technology is specifically engineered to capture these compounds.

Second Stage: CF1 V2 Pure Carbon Fibre

The second stage uses pure 0.5-micron carbon fibre filtration to remove:

  • Chlorine

  • Chlorine disinfection by-products

  • Organochlorine compounds

  • Pesticides

  • Herbicides

  • Insecticides

  • Pharmaceuticals

  • Bacteria

  • Sediment

  • Unpleasant tastes and odours

  • Remaining PFOS, PFOA and related contaminants

Together, these two stages provide exceptional chemical, biological and particulate filtration while preserving the natural minerals and balanced pH of the water.

Up to 80,000 litres of exceptional filtered water.

The AquaGuard Ultrasorb System can produce up to 80,000 litres of filtered water before the cartridges require replacement.

That is more than 200 litres of filtered water every day for approximately 12 months, providing excellent capacity for families, workplaces and other high-use environments. Unlike lower-capacity filters that may become exhausted within weeks or months, AquaGuard Carbon Fibre Cartridges are designed to deliver reliable contaminant removal over a considerably greater filtration volume. Actual cartridge life may vary according to water quality, water pressure, usage and the concentration of contaminants present.

AquaGuard carbon fibre systems remove, not simply reduce.

Many filtration products use general terms such as “helps reduce” without explaining how effectively the filter performs, at what flow rate it was tested or how much water it can treat.

AquaGuard Carbon Fibre Cartridges have been independently tested to demonstrate their performance. The Ultrasorb System removes up to 99.7% of tested PFOS and PFOA while maintaining an effective filtration rate suitable for everyday household use.

With 0.5-micron filtration, a capacity of up to 80,000 litres and flow rates of up to 8 litres per minute, AquaGuard delivers an exceptional combination of contaminant removal, filtration capacity and convenience.
