As water passes through the alkalising media, its mineral balance and pH are adjusted, with a potential output of up to pH 9.2. The actual result will depend on the incoming water quality, flow rate, contact time and condition of the cartridge.

The larger 10" x 4.5" format contains more treatment media than the standard 10" x 2.5" version, providing greater capacity for higher-volume applications.
